Artist Statement

My art practice began as a pandemic distraction, picking up paints and pencils I hadn’t touched in years, buying craft supplies online, and diving into YouTube videos and online art classes. I rediscovered my love of making things, first as gifts for family and friends and more recently as a way to capture memories and process this intense time period.

I generally work in acrylic and watercolor painting, but I’m also experimenting with more mixed-media and three-dimensional art. As I build my portfolio, I’m striving for a balance between carefully considered, intentional work and more whimsical pieces created purely for the joy they bring me.
